WW II U.S. M-1 Helmet with "FIXED BALE" with Net
The steel helmet has light rough olive drab finish and looks to be the original factory finish, and it has several minor stress cracks in the metal SEE "Multi-View" photos, they do not looks bad, common on the early made helmets, shell is marked in inside front with what looks like "130C" and seam butting is in the front, the web straps are light OD with brass fittings, fittings need light cleaning. Net is OD green with some minor holes. The liner looks to be made by "Westinghouse" markings are not all that clear. Liner has smooth olive drab finish with some light age and wear, also looks like it may have been repainted at one time, also there is small hole on back bottom edge. The webbing is in sound condition and is light OD green, both the leather liner and neck band are marked. The leather on the band is nice with some light age. The brown leather chinstrap shows only light age and has the later black finish on the buckle. Overall nice looking wartime helmet with some field wear and age. Exc. $400.00
