Army Pioniere Troops Officer Visor Hat

Made of grey green doe skin type wool with black wool piping around top edge. The band is made of dark green wool with black wool piping around the band. Eagle and wreath are early quality silver aluminum, chinstrap is made of twisted silver aluminum wire bread and the visor is the standard black fiber material. Inside is lined with the light gold silk rayon type material, with plastic sweat diamond with maker printed in silver, name slot has paper tag with owners name. The sweat band is made of a oil cloth type material with grey color, hat looks to be around size 55/56. Overall the inside shows a lot of wear from being worn in the field, there are a lot of hair oil stains and the sweat band is broken in several spots. The outside has some moth track under the side folds, but not heavy and not noticeable, there are a couple moth nips on the top, they are very small and not distracting. This hat was there in the field and has character. Overall some wartime field wear and age. Exc. $850.00
