Army Artillery Officer Visor Hat

Top of hat is made of a very nice grey green smooth doeskin type wool with red wool piping around the top edge, the dark green wool band is piped the same. Eagle is early quality with nickel plated finish, the wreath is hand embroidered in silver aluminum bullion wire on dark green with metal cockade. The silver aluminum bullion wire chinstrap is nice with light wear, visor in made of black fiber with tan finish on the backside. The inside is lined with a light gold silk rayon material with plastic sweat diamond with maker, the plastic sweat diamond is broken and only about 40% remains the maker is printed in gold print, not much is left. The leather sweat band is nice with some oil stains, it is marked on backside with unit marking. Hat is about size 55/56. Overall very fine quality hat with light wartime wear and age, other than the plastic sweat diamond very nice, great looking hat. Exc. + $1075.00
