WWII 5th AAF Sgt. Uniform Set
Garrison Cap, Coat and Trousers with web waist belt and Shirt and necktie. Coat is made of OD wool with gold eagle buttons with Australia made 5th Army Air Force Shoulder patch, on left shoulder, machine woven on thick dark blue wool felt with Tech. Sgt. chevrons on each sleeve, OD on dark blue wool, also with two gold oversea bars on lower left cuff. Collar has clutch back U.S. & AAF enlisted collar disk. Has very nice pin back sterling marked Aerial Gunner Wings with ribbon bar with three ribbons, Air Medal with three bronze oak leafs, Pacific Campaign with four bronze stars and Philippine Liberation with two bronze stars, also has the cloth Discharge patch. Coat is marked with owners service number and Quartermaster tag is marked size 35 R and dated April 1, 1941. Garrison Cap is made of OD wool with AAF branch piping with Quartermaster tag dated 1942 and marked size 7, tag is worn and hard to read. OD wool shirt is very nice, has no insignia, this is common, it is missing a couple of buttons and looks about size 15. Wool OD trousers are marked size W31 -L31, the quartermaster tag is washed out, the web belt is marked and dated 1943. Necktie is made of light OD tan wool. Coat and trousers and Garrison cap are marked with same service numbers. Overall very nice set, shows minor field wear and age, all you need are some shoes. Does not come with the leather belt.
