1920’s U.S. Army 3rd Inf. Div. M1917/18 Service Tunic

Standard WW I private purchase tunic made of nice quality brownish OD type wool. 3rd. Inf. Div. shoulder patch is WW I period, dark blue velvet with silver plated wire braid, the silver plated braid is tarnished and the velvet shows some wear but nice and sound. Has 1920's period Corporal chevrons, dark blue wool with sewn brownish OD wool chevrons. ON left cuff there is service stripes, two on dark blue wool with sewn brownish wool stripes, also has gold bullion wire overseas chevrons, this has tarnished. Tunic has four patch pockets with scallop pocket flaps. Tunic buttons are rare, they are made of bronze colored plastic with eagle, all there, if you lost one of these it would be hard to replace. Collar disk are "U.S. with number 6" other is "Corps of Engineers" with A in center of the Castle, both are screw back. The inside is lined with a brownish thin smooth cotton type material with one inside slanted pocket, the material on the inside has a few tears but is in sound condition for over a 100 years. Nice looking tunic with some light age with a few minor pin hole size moth nips, nothing to me that stand out. Also has pinback WW I Victory Medal ribbon bar with four Bronze stars, and with silver pinback "MARKSMAN" bar, this is silver plated but tarnished. Exc. + $300.00
