U.S. Army Vietnam Period "MP" M-1 Steel Helmet
Un-finished painted helmet. Helmet has a dark rough OD finish with hand painted large white letters "MP" on front with red and white stripes painted on each side with large white painted 62 on left side and large red block on right side, this is a un-finished 4th Army patch, and does not have the red and white strip painted on the back. Helmet is a Korean War pattern, has rear joint seam and has the dark OD web chinstrap with No 7 color with the "T-1" type chinstrap connector clips. The helmet liner is a WW II pattern, it has a smooth OD painted finish with hand painted in white "MP" on front with red and white stripes on sides and back with hand painted number 62 with 4th Army decal. The webbing in the liner is a light OD green and is worn and torn in some spots,and is missing the sweat band. Has maker of the liner in top, very small but is a small man with his arms on his hips with letters IMP for the International Molded Plastics Company. This helmet came out of a Army Surplus Store in about 1979. Overall shows wear with age, intresting helmet. Exc + $175.00
