WW II U.S. M-1 Helmet with Rank Insignia on Front

M-1 type 2 helmet with Flexible Chinstrap loops with front edge butt. Helmet has the rough textured OD green finish, finish is dirty and shows wear with some age, has Staff Sgt. Chevron painted in white on the front. The chinstraps are light OD colored web with brass fittings. The liner is trashed out, this helmet was said to come out of a barn, the liner webbing is light OD colored but it is broken in spots and metal fitting are rusty, lot of dust and dirt on the inside, the leather chinstrap is broken with part of it missing, the maker of the liner in the top is Westinghouse, had to move some dirt to see it. Outside of the liner is the standard OD green, it also shows some age to the fitting, the inside of the steel helmet has some light rust. Overall may look better if you clean some of the dirt and dust from the outside. Rare to find NCO/EM rank insignia painted on helmet. Low Exc. $365.00
