WW II U.S. Navy "M-1" Steel Helmet

Helmet is painted bright red with blue grey painted band around bottom edge. Helmet has front butted seam with flexible chinstrap attachment, chinstrap are light OD webbing, the metal fitting are made of steel and were replaced at one time to the 'T1"type with ball and fish hook clip, ball is missing and the hook is broken, one side of it is missing and rusty, straps have some rust also but look sound. The inside of the steel pot is still OD. The helmet liner is dirty from storage, webbing is light OD , sweat band was put in there wrong with the rear hooked to the neck band, been there for a long time, liner also has some drops of the red paint, liner has small crack on rear SEE Multi-View phots. There is no leather chinstrap, marked in the top with maker with "F" with number 'A 21" "Firestone Tire & Rubber Company". The outside of the liner is the OD color, it has some paint splatter on it with some red also. Overall WW II Helmet that seen service in WW II/Korean War, show wear and age. Red and grey blue finish maybe for FIRE Control Service ??? Exc. $400.00
