Kriegsmarine Administrative Officials Tropical Summer TunicThis is a Japanese WW II Civil Tunic. Tunic is made of a light tan cotton material with open collar with four patch pleated pockets and is unlined. Has Administrative silver buttons, marked and dated 1941. The shoulder boards are for Oberleutnant rank, they have bright silver alumi braid with one gold rank pip on each with dark blue underlay, they are the slip on type, the shoulder board buttons are the screw on type. The pin back metal breast eagle has a matt silver painted finish, has War Merit Ribbon in button hole, plus has small loops for ribbon bar and one badge. This tunic was found by a U.S. Army Corporal in the Military Police in the 1st Cavalry Div. in a German Government Office in a Japanese Naval building in Japan at the end of World War II.
