Army Artillery Hauptmann Piped Field Dress TunicTunic is a converted dress issue quality tunic. Tunic is made of a nice quality grey green smooth does skin type wool with dark green collar piped in red with red piping down the front of the tunic and on the turn up cuffs, with eight button front. Collar tabs are the Officers dress pattern, hand embroidered in heavy silver alumi wire with red backing and machine sewn to collar, shoulder boards have bright silver alumi braid with two gold rank pips on each with red underlay and are the sew in type. Breast eagle is hand embroidered in silver alumi wire on dark green. Tunic has loops for long ribbon bar and two loops for badges. Top two pockets are patch pleated and bottom two are the slash type pockets. Pockets and cuffs have been added, they are of the same material and are a 100% match in color and wear, this type alterations to the dress tunic are common after the war started. The inside is lined with light grey green silk rayon type material with edge weapon hanger and marked with size marking with E39 date. Buttons are the standard type with pebbled finish, made of alumi with a matt finish in grey. Overall this tunic shows a lot of field wear, still very nice with minor age, looks like he used it for a field service tunic more than a field dress tunic, wool shows wear but the tunic is still very nice and the colors are still very nice also.
