Issue quality made of grey green wip cord wool with light green wool piping with dark green wool band with silver alumi eagle and wreath with silver grey and gold metal edelweiss with black leather chin strap with standard black fiber visor. Inside is lined with the orange brown linen material with light brown leather sweat band. Plastic sweat diamond is only about 85% missing part below the name tag slot, marked size 56 under the diamond, inside is nice with normal field wear and age, sweat band is marked 1938 with maker and marked 1939 with issue. The Mountain Troops edelweiss was not introduced until May 1939, this hat was issued without edelweiss and added later. Overall shows minor field wear and age. Exc + $750.00 RARE
