German WW I M1898/05 Bayonet with Leather Frog
"Butcher Blade" Blade is maker marked "Fred. Esser & Co. with 17 date. Wood grips show field wear with some age but have no cracks. Metal fitting show age. Blade is dark but looks like it was a bright finish, blade shows minor field wear and should clean up nice. Metal scabbard has some minor dents with field wear and light surface rust, blued finish looks just about all gone, but should clean up some. Black leather frog shows heavy field wear, still it looks in sound condition and is marked with maker and dated 1915. Overall it sounds bad but it is still a nice looking bayonet with normal field wear and age, just needs a good cleaning.
