Gendarmerie Police Dress Bayonet by Alexander Coppel
Bayonet has light colored stag grips with silver alumi police eagle and swastika with heavy nickel plated pommel and cross guard. Guard is marked with police markings " L.Mg. 238 " same on scabbard. Plating on pommel and cross guard is nice and the metal shows some age and wear, has some dings from were they use it for a hammer, hard to find one that was not used this way, but the finish is still nice and bright. Balde is 13 inches long and is the nickel plated type, the full length and still is nice and bright with some age and wear but only minor, may even clean up some, it is very clean now. Marked on both sides with maker logo. The brown leather scabbard has turn dark from wear and age and has a crease in the leather from a bend, the nickel plated finish on the fitting shows heave wear but still they are bright. The brown leather frong has some dark spots from wear and age, but it is in sound condition, has tack hole from were vet had it on the wall. Overall looks nice, but shows wear and age. Exc $700.00
