Army M16 Double Decal Helmet Light green finish has been painted over with a dark rough grey green hand brush painted finish, Army & National color decals were painted around, Army decal is about 95% National decal was scraped off at a later date, but it had been painted around, not painted over, finish on helmet is about 90 % plus. Inside is still the light green color, top of inside is rusty. Liner is a little dark but sound. Chinstrap is a later one with Rbnr, it has been broken at one time and repaired. Liner band is made of alumi, and looks marked 64 can not make out the date. Helmet shell is marked "C.A.S.66"" this is the WW I markings, also stamped "64" when the M31 liner was added. Overall helmet shows field wear and age, still looks very nice and would rate Exc + $ 1000.00 |
